A Learning Environment Tailored for Mothers and Babies

The Beit Midrash is happy to host mothers together with their babies, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Time to Learn and Recharge

The weekly meeting provides a unique opportunity during maternity leave to pause, deepen your learning, and be filled with Torah. A space that nourishes the spirit and soul during an intense period.

Meaningful Connection and Conversation

The learning takes place in chavrutot and round tables that encourage reflection and depth. A space is created to share thoughts and experiences from our unique perspective as mothers.

Women on maternity leave bring their babies in tow to learn one morning weekly at Nishmat. Through this program, a woman’s precious maternity-leave period can be harnessed for inspiring Torah learning, connecting body and soul. Mornings consist of Torah study, breakfast, and an activity for moms and babies, such as yoga or baby massage.

Alumnae Testimonials

״My years at Nishmat were formative; they shaped my learning, faith, and spiritual identity. Returning to the Beit Midrash as an alumna feels like coming home—to a place that continues to teach, challenge, and give strength for the next stage of life. It is a privilege for me to remain part of this space, not merely as a memory of the past, but as an active part of my everyday life”״

Eliana Rochverder

״Maternity leave is such a special and transformative time. The opportunity to come learn at the midrasha during this period is a true gift for me. It’s a moment in the week that is just for me — to pause, deepen my learning, nourish my soul, and remember who I am beyond motherhood. The connection to the Beit Midrash, to the words of Torah, and to women who are at the same stage of life gives me strength and balance, and recharges me so I return home feeling more whole.״

Shira

״Learning at the midrasha is an opportunity for me to return to my Beit Midrash and reconnect with the depth that Torah brings to my life. Studying together reminds me that personal and spiritual growth doesn’t stop — it simply takes on a new form with motherhood. For me, it’s a way to continue growing, even in this new and exciting chapter of life. I am truly grateful for this meaningful opportunity.״
