Shiur Hemshech serves students who have completed one or more years of study at the midrasha or a different midrasha who have fallen in love with the world of Torah study and see themselves advancing in the field and contributing in various ways to the Jewish people.
Socially and spiritually, they are a focal point of the institution, as they uphold the traditions of the Beit Midrash, provide continuity and maturity, and become “senior study partners” for the new students. They serve as a source of inspiration for rigor and religious devotion. Alongside seminary studies, participants may combine study at higher education institutions.

Shiur Hemshech is intended for Midrasha graduates who wish to continue and deepen their Torah study at a high level. The program is tailored for learners with intellectual curiosity, commitment to Torah study, and a desire to develop independent and critical Torah thinking.
It is meant for those who wish to acquire advanced learning skills — in-depth analysis of Gemara and Rishonim, the ability to compare and analyze different approaches, develop independent learning strategies, and the ability to formulate and present insights both in writing and orally.
This track is designed for graduates who view Torah study as a central part of their lives and wish to continue growing through another meaningful year.
No. Candidates with a suitable Torah background, experience in Gemara study, and relevant recommendations are welcome to apply. The admissions process includes a one-on-one interview and an assessment of suitability for the class’s level and style of learning. We are happy to meet quality students from different backgrounds and enrich the Beit Midrash with diverse personalities and learning styles.
Shiur Hemsehch places a special emphasis on depth, independence, and personal responsibility in learning.
Gemara sessions are longer and more substantial, aimed at systematic and sustained study of given topics. Students are expected to initiate questions, investigate, analyze, and engage with complex sources — all in pursuit of a broad and deep understanding of the topic and its halachic and conceptual framework.
The atmosphere in Shiur Hemshech is characterized by mature learning, in-depth Beit Midrash discussion, and a full sense of partnership in the toil of Torah study.
The advanced class is a full, intensive, and meaningful study program that runs throughout the week and continues into the evening. The learning requires full attendance, commitment, and focus, suitable for those who choose to place the Beit Midrash at the center of their year. However, work can be incorporated on Sundays and Fridays, and individual arrangements can be made for combining the program with other studies on Sundays or online learning.
Shiur Hemshech students have access to housing in the Midrasha apartments, within a supportive and religious environment, as part of a full Beit Midrash life experience.
